Atomic force microscopy and in situ-annealing X-ray diffraction study on template-stripped gold substrates for optimum self-assembled monolayer deposition

چکیده

Literature is well supplied with studies of gold deposit on mica for fabricating ultra-flat template-stripped surface. Gold silicon has not received much attention. Our study optimizes the deposition rates, annealing temperatures and time to obtain a surface very low roughness large (111) oriented crystallites. Atomic force microscopy performed in tapping peak mode evaluate roughness. The crystallite size obtained from situ X-ray diffraction measurements during annealing. We find out that rate 0.2 nm/s 40 min at 400°C gives best result (0.21±0.04) nm.

Solid-state bonding technique for template-stripped ultraflat gold substrates.

A simple procedure using gold diffusion bonding for the preparation of template-stripped gold (TSG) surfaces is described. TSG surfaces are useful for surface studies because a very consistent flat gold surface with few defects can be easily prepared. We have developed a method of producing TSG surfaces that relies only on gold diffusion bonding rather than epoxies. The resulting substrates are...

Modified DNA immobilized on bioreactive self-assembled monolayer on gold for dynamic force microscopy imaging in aqueous buffer solution

Recent advances in DNA specimen preparation techniques for dynamic scanning force microscopy based on terminal anchoring of the DNA segments on bioreactive self-assembled monolayers on ultraflat gold surfaces or on the gold surfaces themselves are presented DNAs of well-defined lengths and sequences carrying aminoor thiol-modified nucleotides at each end have been prepared. DNA imaging in the a...

Atomic Force Microscopy Characterisation of a Micro-contact Printed, Self Assembled Thiol Monolayer

This paper describes friction experiments and pull-off force measurements using atomic force microscopy, between a non-functionalised silicon probe and a 2.5 m diameter CH3 and COOH terminated thiol self assembled monolayer pattern. The pattern is micro-contact printed onto a gold-coated silicon wafer, in air, at room temperature, with a relative humidity around 30%, and used to examine probem...

Combined study of X-ray reflectivity and atomic force microscopy on a surface-grafted phospholipid monolayer on a solid.

We investigated the detailed structure of a surface-grafted phospholipid monolayer, which was polymerized in situ onto a methacryloyl-silanized solid surface. By the combined study of X-ray reflectivity and atomic force microscopy, the in situ polymerization step of the lipid molecules are sufficiently detailed to reveal the molecular structure of lipid molecules before and after in situ polyme...

Atomic Force Microscopy Application in Biological Research: A Review Study

Atomic force microscopy (AFM) is a three-dimensional topographic technique with a high atomic resolution to measure surface roughness. AFM is a kind of scanning probe microscope, and its near-field technique is based on the interaction between a sharp tip and the atoms of the sample surface. There are several methods and many ways to modify the tip of the AFM to investigate surface properties, ...
